Darin Van Tassell - served as the Head Coach of the Nicaraguan Team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where his team finished fourth after losing to the United States in the Bronze Medal game. He has worked as a Head Coach for the International Baseball Federation in Japan, Israel, Curacao, Costa Rica, Aruba, and the former Soviet Union. He is also a former coach at Georgia Southern University, where he was either a player or coach from 1985-1999. In 1996, his pitching staff at Georgia Southern posted the third best record in America, including the nation’s winningest pitcher. During his tenure at GSU, Van Tassell had at least one All-American pitcher under his development each season. He also serves as a Technical Commissioner for the International Baseball Federation. He currently is a Professor in the Center for International Studies at Georgia Southern University.
